How the project moved/

01

Challenge

Klypa was created to bridge the gap between local talent and customers looking for trusted style professionals nearby. The platform needed to support discovery, bookings, payments, availability, and marketing in one cohesive ecosystem, while staying simple enough for mobile-first users across emerging urban markets.
02

Approach

We approached Klypa as a product platform rather than a standard website. The focus was on creating a fast, mobile-first experience that gives customers a simple way to find and book local talent, while giving barbers, stylists, and beauty entrepreneurs more visibility and control over their schedule. The system was designed around location, availability, booking flow, and checkout logic, supported by a scalable TypeScript and Prisma backend.
03

Outcome

Klypa is currently piloting in South Africa as a foundational tool for style professionals. The platform is designed to support stable income, streamlined workflows, and stronger client relationships, with an expanding ecosystem built to scale into Africa’s mobile-first future.
01

Product Strategy

02

App Experience

The mobile experience was built with Ionic and Angular, creating a sleek interface for browsing talent, checking availability, making bookings, and moving through checkout.

03

Backend System

A custom API was developed using TypeScript and Prisma, supporting booking logic, secure payment flows, location data, availability tracking, and platform scalability.

04

Market Foundation

Alongside the app, a CMS-powered landing page was created for marketing, updates, and growth as Klypa pilots in South Africa and prepares to scale.
